To be enrolled in any of the postgraduate diplomas, the student must have a Bachelor of Science degree from one of the faculties of science in Egyptian universities, or an equivalent degree from any other scientific institute recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities, in the majors determined by the relevant department council, or a Bachelor’s degree from other faculties. Appropriate for the specialization. Students applying for a diploma who do not have a Bachelor of Science in the required specialization may be admitted after they have passed qualifying courses in accordance with the requirements of the relevant department.
The duration of the study to obtain any of the postgraduate diplomas is an academic year during which the student devotes himself to theoretical and practical studies and exercises, and the number of credit hours allocated to any of the postgraduate diplomas is not less than 24 credit hours.
Before the start of the study, the concerned department council determines the courses that will be taught to the student during the academic year, from among the list of courses of code 500 according to the attached tables. Some courses of code 600 of the master’s degree may be studied. In all cases, these decisions are approved by the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and the College Council.
Courses are taught throughout the academic year and the student sits for the exam at the end of each semester in the courses he has studied.
The concerned department council may assign the student (students of the Faculty of Science from other disciplines suitable for the diploma major) to study some of the undergraduate courses.
The College Council may, based on the proposal of the Department Council and the recommendation of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee, calculate courses at the postgraduate level that the student has previously studied in the College or in any scientific institute recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities during the three years preceding his enrollment in the diploma.
The enrollment of the diploma student is canceled if he does not obtain the diploma within six semesters (three years) from the date of enrollment, and the summer semester is not counted among the previous periods.
