Hello and welcome to the website of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Sohag University. The Department of Physics is one of the oldest and oldest departments in the College of Science. Since its establishment, the Department of Physics has played an active role in raising the level of quality of education and scientific research and in serving the community, relying on a distinguished group of faculty members and the supporting staff representing all physics disciplines such as solid-state physics, nuclear and radiation physics, theoretical physics Materials Science Physics, Plasma Physics, Optical and Laser Physics.
The department seeks to develop itself with modern specializations such as nanomaterial, new energies physics, astrophysics, and bio-medical physics. The Department of Physics has a group of distinguished student laboratories, which number more than eleven, and contain the latest experiments and laboratory techniques. One of the most important features of the Department of Physics is the presence of a group of distinguished research laboratories that contain the latest devices and equipment, which contribute to the work of distinguished scientific research published in the largest international scientific journals, which are witnessed by everyone, and which play the main role in raising the status of the college, the university and our beloved country.
