Research Ethics Committee

Mission

  • Through its work, the committee ensures that academically registered research at the faculty adheres to ethical standards and works to educate researchers about internationally recognized research ethics and principles, which aim to preserve the safety of living organisms (humans, animals, or plants) and the environment

Objectives

  •  To spread the culture and increase the awareness of the ethical rules of scientific research among those conducting and participating in scientific research through seminars, meetings, conferences, and publications.
  • To support the application of scientific research ethics at all levels in all faculty departments, particularly academic theses (Master’s, PhD, PhD dissertations), research, and research projects
  • Establishing a database, electronic archive, and information network for everything related to the Scientific Research Ethics Committee.
  •  Unifying standard operating procedures within the committee and developing a list of terms and definitions related to the care and use of living organisms.
  • Establishing ethical rules for animal welfare during experiments and methods and means for disposing of dead or failed animals after the research is completed
  • Communicate with relevant entities within the university to prioritize this area.
