Overview
Scientific research is the foundation of any progress and the pillar of any civilization. It is through research that nations advance and thrive. Therefore, Sohag University is committed to promoting the academic and support staff of the university’s various faculties and institutes, developing their academic and professional skills to keep pace with global scientific and technological developments.
The Faculty’s Department of External Scientific and Cultural Relations is one of the departments reporting to the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research. It provides staff members and their assistants with all possible facilities and services to participate in conferences, seminars, workshops, academic missions, scholarships, study leave, and grants.

Mission
Highlighting faculty of science, its activities, outputs, plans, and ambitions, and strengthening interaction and communication with the student, academic, and administrative communities, as well as the local and international community.
Objectives
-Develop the Cultural Relations Department and implement the digital transformation system.
-Motivate and support the staff to participate in local and international conferences.
-Encourage and support the staff to benefit from the academic and cultural exchange programs offered by the Department.
-Encouraging and support staff to take advantage of the academic and cultural exchange programs offered by the Scholarships and Delegations Department.
-continuously following up and communicating with scholarship students and establishing cultural, scientific, and research partnerships with their universities.
-Planning to build bridges of cooperation and open international, regional, and local channels to benefit from the experiences of other similar entities and provide them with the expertise that distinguishes the faculty
-Increasing communication with the university’s faculties regarding cultural activities and exchange, and organizing seminars, conferences, cultural seasons, and research sessions among them.
-Motivate and support the staff to participate in local and international conferences.
