The Faculty of Science at Sohag University organized a distinguished scientific lecture entitled “Competitive Research Projects”, as part of the faculty’s strategy to enhance its academic standing and strengthen researchers’ capabilities.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hazem El-Mashnib, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Omar El-Hady, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Amal Abu El-Wafa, Head of the Student Research Team.
The lecture, delivered by Prof. Dr. Islam El-Sheikh, Professor of Materials Science at the Department of Physics, provided a comprehensive explanation of the mechanisms for obtaining competitive research grants, methods for writing professional research proposals, and the fundamental principles of research project planning.
This initiative represents a key part of the Faculty’s broader vision to develop a strong research environment, empower students and researchers to successfully compete for scientific funding, and reinforce the Faculty’s position as a center of excellence in scientific research.
