Within the framework of the presidential initiative, a new beginning for building the human being, and under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister, Professor Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, His Excellency Professor Dr. Hazem El-Moshneb, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr. Hussein Abdel-Hafez, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Graduate Studies and Research, and Professor Dr. Salah Abbas, Head of the Department of Mathematics Today, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, a presentation was made of what was accomplished by the student research team at the Faculty of Science. The meeting began with a speech by His Excellency Professor Dr.Hazem El-Moshneb. \u00a0Dean of the Faculty, Prof. He welcomed His Excellency Prof. Dr. President of the University and the attendees by giving a brief overview of the team, its goals, its development, and the qualification of young researchers for development, innovation, and scientific research, and enhancing their skills, which in line with the presidential initiative, the team leader, Dr. Amal Abu Al-Wafa, a lecturer at the Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics, gave a detailed presentation of the idea of \u200b\u200bestablishing the team and how to gather its members from different faculties such as science, computers, artificial intelligence, education, agriculture and engineering. Dr. Amal also mentioned that three training courses were held for students from different faculties where they were trained on how to choose research in the specialization of interest and how to read the research and identify its strengths and weaknesses and trained them on some reliable sites and platforms to obtain research such as the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, Scopus, Research Gate and other well-known research sites in the scientific field. She also mentioned that among the team\u2019s achievements is the publication of three actual research papers in international journals, one of which was in mathematics, where student Ahmed Hassan [Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics] published research in mathematics under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel Nafea, a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, and two research papers in chemistry by students: Mena Essam – Habeeba Ali – Israa Awad [Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry] under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Emad Nower. Then some students applied what was taught in the courses, where some of the team members from the students presented. The university president praised the research team, the students’ presentation, and the efforts made by the team members during his speech, stressing that the political leadership headed by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi continues to invest in young people with steady steps through effective presidential initiatives that are being implemented on the ground to build their capabilities and ensure quality and effective education, as well as encourage young researchers to innovate and develop, as they are the backbone of the nation and its future. The university president promised some rewards to the students and to implement the proposals presented by Dr. Amal at the beginning of the meeting.
